The ‘Hello’ That Opened My Eyes(Ears)

A little over a year ago I met with a psychic medium for the first time in my life. I was completely blind to the world of mediumship. Sure, I’ve seen them on various TV shows, but always kind of walked away from the TV at that point in the show or changed the channel. Never really knowing how real it is without experiencing first hand.

An acquaintance (at the time) of mine encouraged me to go for a session and hear for myself what the medium could do. So, I reached out on Facebook and received the details of the location and time to meet.

The next morning I was nervous as I wasn’t sure what to expect. I woke up extra early and stopped at the casino nearby to see if I could offset the cost! I won! That calmed me down momentarily as I drove to the location and was unsure if I was at the correct address. Then I saw her peek through the deck sliding door and wave. After that, I scurried to the front door through the crunchy snow and was greeted with a warm smile and hug!

Whew! The nerve factor went down to about 50%! We introduced ourselves and chatted about our local college basketball teams win! I am a huge sports fan and it made me feel right at home! Before we began she asked if I would like to record the session! I’ve never even used the record speech app on my phone. I began scrambling on my phone and realized at that moment, I didn’t even have one! Once the app downloaded set, record, and go!

What transpired next altered my view on the afterlife forever! To clarify, I was raised Catholic! We delved into my adoption and family, I’ve never even met. I thought ‘Oh great’ I get to explain this story again for the one-millionth time. However, it wasn’t awkward this time. She reminded me there isn’t a day my biological mother doesn’t think about me. Naturally, as an adoptee, it all seemed like the regular b.s. However, this time was different.

After the session ended we said our goodbyes and went on our ways. It wasn’t until the next day I played the recording on my phone. In this case, I wanted to examine what was said to fully gather what was told to me. As I replayed the conversation of the adoption and right after the medium told me ‘there isn’t a day.’ Then I heard it. I nearly dropped my beer. ‘Hello’ in a gravely older woman’s voice that is unmistakable.

Needless to say, I got my experience. Hit play on the audio clip and at the 30-second mark until the 40-mark you will experience what I did. Shocking to hear my grandmother whom I’ve never met say ‘Hello’ from the other side. Friends have asked if there was anyone else there. There was not. Perhaps the phone moved. It was resting on the table without any movement. For one thing, even if the phone got bumped, it certainly wouldn’t say hello.

This experience has transformed the way I view death. After, I opened up my mind to what mediums can offer. This EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) wasn’t the first I’ve captured on recording either. I didn’t doubt the others. This one knocked me on my ass!
